Penalties for infringement are monetary and can be severe. Print products have no usage license associated with them. Buying a print and scanning it for for commercial purposes without aquiring a license is a copyright violation.
It is illegal to copy, combine, or use portions of any Oregon Stock Photos photos, whether by scanning, downloading, digital reproduction, or as reference for another illustration. Furthermore, incorporating all or part of a photo in any other image constitutes an infringement of copyright. You cannot legally use a photograph by changing the photo. The original photo, however modified or distorted, is still protected by copyright.
Exceeding the terms of a license is an infringement. A new license is required prior to additional use.
An artist's rendering of a photograph in another medium is a derivative use of the photo and requires the purchase of a license prior to use.
Infringement of copyright is a serious offense, subject to severe penalties under law. The only legal way to use our photographs is to properly purchase a license or print.
